Nico Calara
I completed my Bachelor of Kinesiology at the University of the Fraser Valley and earned a Diploma in Sports Science. I’ve furthered my education through continuing courses in Personal Training, Soft Tissue Release, Athletic/Kinesiotaping, and The McGill Method with BackFitPro.
My professional experience spans clinics, fitness studios, corporate wellness programs, and sports teams. I’ve primarily supported clients recovering from injuries related to motor vehicle accidents (ICBC), workplace incidents, and athletic activities. My roles have included conducting ergonomic assessments, administering pre-placement employment screenings, assisting strength and conditioning coaches at secondary schools, and providing athletic training for semi-professional soccer clubs.
My approach to rehabilitation and wellness emphasizes a combination of exercise and education, focusing on empowering clients to take charge of their own care and return to their ideal lifestyle. This holistic approach aligns with my philosophy of highlighting the importance of continuous learning and self-autonomy in long-term health and well-being.
Outside of my professional commitments, I find solace in outdoor activities like trail running, hiking, and backpacking. These pursuits not only align with my interests but also enhance my purpose and passion for leading an active lifestyle.
