Preparing for your session is simple, and we’ve outlined everything you need to ensure a smooth, worry-free experience. From completing intake forms to arriving at our inclusive clinics, we’re with you every step of the way. Explore the sections below to start your path to recovery with confidence!

Intake Forms

We’re excited to get to know you and your unique needs. Completing your intake forms before your first session allows us to craft a personalized care plan that’s safe, effective, and tailored to your goals. It’s the first step toward feeling supported and empowered on your wellness journey.

Yes, it is essential to complete your intake forms prior to your first appointment to ensure our team can provide safe and effective care. Intake forms can be completed online at any time before your appointment. If you need assistance or would like to complete the forms in-clinic, please arrive at least 15 minutes early for your first appointment.

If it has been a few years since your last appointment or you have a new ICBC or WorkSafeBC claim, you may need to complete new intake forms (we will let you know!). For minors (under the age of 19), a parent or guardian should sign the intake forms on your behalf.

Visit Essentials

Come Prepared, Leave Empowered

We want you to feel confident and ready for your session. By bringing a few essentials and preparing in advance, you’ll make the most of your time with us. After your session, we’ll guide you with a personalized care plan to keep your recovery on track, ensuring you leave feeling supported and motivated.

Pre-Appointment Tips: Take a moment to jot down any symptoms, questions, or goals you’d like to discuss with your therapist. This helps us tailor your session to your needs. If your appointment involves physical activity (e.g., Physiotherapy or Personal Training), consider a light stretch or hydration beforehand to feel your best.

Post-Appointment Guidance: After your session, your therapist may provide exercises, stretches, or a care plan to support your recovery. We’ll follow up to ensure you’re confident in your next steps, and you can always reach out to us with questions via our Help Centre or by calling our team.

Here's what you should bring to your appointment:

Identification: If it's your first appointment at Total Therapy, please bring a piece of government-issued photo ID for identity verification.

Insurance/Payment Information: If you haven't already provided a valid credit card at the time of booking, bring a method of payment (we accept cash, debit, and most major credit cards). If you have an active ICBC claim, WSBC claim (we only accept WSBC claims for Physiotherapy treatments), or extended benefits plan for direct billing, bring that claim information with you or include it in your intake forms.

If You're a Minor: If you're under 19, a parent or guardian should be present for your first session. Your therapist will let you know if they're required for future sessions.

Documents: While not required, feel free to bring a doctor's referral or any medical reports that may help your therapist. You can also email these documents to us before your appointment.

For most sessions, there are no specific clothing requirements—just dress for comfort! However, for appointments like Physiotherapy, Chiropractic, Kinesiology, or Custom Orthotics, it’s best to wear comfortable clothing that allows access to the treated area (e.g., shorts for knee injuries, a tank top for shoulder injuries) and bring running shoes if exercises are involved.

For Fitness Appraisal and Personal Training sessions, we recommend wearing comfortable, flexible clothing like athletic wear that allows you to move freely. Since these sessions may include exercises or movement assessments (e.g., running), runners (athletic shoes) and socks are preferred to ensure comfort and ease of movement. If you’re unsure, feel free to contact us for more guidance!
